Foods That Whiten Your Teeth

If you’re at the grocery store looking for a quick at home remedy for removing stains from your teeth, skip the whitening toothpaste and mouthwash and go for some of the foods below instead! Over the counter remedies guarantee the same results fro everybody, but we must remember that each person’s teeth are unique and require a custom treatment plan. Instead of wasting money on over-the-counter remedies, try out some natural fixes with the foods in this blog.

  • Strawberries – These delicious berries contain an enzyme called malic acid that works to naturally remove stains from your teeth for a brighter, whiter smile. Eat them as you normally would, or try mashing them up and rubbing them on your teeth. Leave for 5 minutes and rinse with water when done.
  • Yogurt, Milk & Cheese – The calcium in milk is great for building strong bones, including your teeth! Eating yogurt a few times a week can help prevent against cavities and tooth decay. On top of that, hard cheeses are great for whitening since they remove food particles from the surfaces of your teeth!
  • Baking Soda – Baking soda is a great solution for removing plaque build up and for adding shine to those pearly whites! Sprinkle a bit on top of your toothpaste and try brushing with it a few times a week. You should notice a difference in a few days!
  • Celery & Carrots – These crunchy snacks work to scrub teeth and remove food particles by increasing saliva production.
