One unique cosmetic service that we provide is called Clear Braces, and they are fabricated right here in our office! We can use our intraoral scanner to record your teeth on our computer. We then digitally construct your smile and use our state-of-the-art 3D printers to print models that we will use to make the trays that straighten your teeth. Clear Braces are a great alternative to metal bands and brackets. This system straightens your teeth using a series of clear trays, or aligners. These aligners are customized to fit the contours of your teeth, resulting in a comfortable fit. The clear trays are easily removed and should be taken out when eating, drinking, brushing and flossing your teeth.
Some benefits of Clear Braces are:
Dr. Flora and Dr. Nelson will monitor your progress carefully during an appointment that occurs about once a month. During each appointment, you will be provided with a new set of aligners, meant to further straighten your smile!
As stated above, Clear Braces are much more comfortable than traditional orthodontic treatments such as braces. With the absence of metal brackets and wires, they are much less likely to irritate your mouth, however, you may feel some pressure as the aligners adjust your teeth. This is normally felt within the first few days of getting a new set of aligners. Remember, the pain is temporary and a beautiful smile is forever.
Your teeth must be fully grown in order to use Clear Braces. If you are unsure of whether you are eligible for Clear Braces speak with one of our doctors and they will answer any questions you may have.
This depends on the severity of the case; however, treatment takes about 12 months on average. Dr. Flora can provide you with a more concrete timeline that is customized for your needs.
Clear Braces should be covered in the same way that traditional braces are covered. Speak with your Insurance provider for more information on your coverage.
